The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovaon has
created the CEMI Mine Tailings Consorum (CMTC)
to bring together mulple companies with technolo-
gies that combine to create a new outcome. The
CMTC soluon is an economical and socially sustain-
able soluon that also creates opportunies for
alternave uses of clean mine tailings.
The goal was to develop a strategic soluon that
would ameliorate the social-environmental issues
associated with mine tailings, improve the econom-
ics of mine tailings storage and make possible post-
closure land and water use opons possible within
20 years aer producon ends.
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: A new agreement between Amira Global and
Canadas Centre of Excellence in Mining Innovaon will enhance the
ability to fast-track soluons to major industry challenges.
The Strategic Alliance Agreement paves the way for more pathways to facilitate implementaon and
commercializaon of R&D and innovaon developed through Amira Global and CEMI.

CEMI helps solve the mining industry's challenges by supporng the commercializaon
of innovaons that address these challenges. We believe soluons face a commerciali-
zaon gap as they transion from bench to market. CEMI has idened that achieving
commercial success and traversing through the "Commercializaon Valley of Death"
requires soluon providers to have validated business cases to support the benets of
their technology and awareness of mining-related operaonal constraints. Soluons
must also demonstrate an ability to reduce operang costs, accelerate me to reve-
nue, increase safety, increase sustainability, and advance equity and diversity.
CEMI ulizes a Mining Innovaon MI-GPS to provide commercializaon support ser-
vices to address these requirements. To learn more about these services and how you
can advance your mining soluons, please contact us via Charles Nyabeze
at cnyabeze@cemi.ca.
