Expanding Horizons for Mining Innovation in Canada
April 7, 2021, Sudbury, Ontario – The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) and 2GLOB are pleased to announce their Strategic Alliance to leverage CEMI’s global network and 2GLOB’s mining portfolio. This alliance will bridge the internationalization, innovation and commercialization gap faced by innovative companies from across Canada entering strategic global markets. CEMI will work with 2GLOB in identifying investable innovations and opportunities that can assist global mining ecosystems and all levels of the mining value chain in mitigating uncertainty and risks in entering emerging markets. CEMI and 2GLOB believe this will lead to the growth and scaling up of Canadian small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by increasing the market of their made-in-Canada products and services, in cooperation with Keiretsu Forum and Dentons global law firm.
The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) is an independent Canadian-based not-for-profit organization. CEMI builds capacity that allows for the acceleration of innovations into the global mining industry. CEMI’s strategic focus helps generate a more significant economic value of mines through technologies, processes, and practices to improve the safety, performance, and capacity of mines.
As a unique platform offering advisory services for the internationalization of enterprises in the natural resources sector, with a special focus on mining technology, 2GLOB helps turn uncertainty in challenging jurisdictions into a manageable business environment. 2GLOB’s platform rests on the following three pillars: (1) accelerating the adoption of commercially viable innovations into emerging markets (2) association with an angel fund in partnership with Keiretsu Forum and (3) a team of experts in emerging markets benefitting from the support of a global network of reputable local players in the relevant jurisdictions and Dentons, one of the world’s most prominent law firms.
